Tyrolean cuisine with a Mediterranean touch
The host family, Judith and Stefan together with their sons Felix and Willi, share their passion for good food and a welcoming atmosphere. The motto on the menu could be: Tyrolean cuisine with a Mediterranean touch. We attach great importance to first-class ingredients, preferably from the immediate surroundings. Meat and cured meats come from the Silbernagl village butcher in Kastelruth/Castelrotto, while spices and herbs come directly from our own garden in Kastelruth/Castelrotto.
Willi, our youngest son and head chef, leads the team in preparing all dishes, including the sweet specialities, all of which are freshly made exclusively in house. We do not use ready-made meals at all.
The rest of the family takes care of service, making sure that our valued guests have everything they need. Our drinks menu includes carefully selected options such as lager, wheat beer and Kellerbier from the private Antonius brewery in Völs am Schlern/Fiè allo Sciliar, all freshly poured from the tap. From the renowned Forst brewery, we offer a lager and a non-alcoholic lager in bottles. The non-alcoholic wheat beer comes from the Kapuziner brewery.
Stefan's carefully managed wine cellar holds around thirty different red, white and sparkling wines. Four white wines and four red wines are also served by the glass, giving our guests a varied tasting experience. The mineral water comes from the St. Vigil springs above Merano. And not to be missed are Judith's famous homemade juices: elderflower, mint and ginger, prepared with care and finished with fresh mineral water.
We look forward to welcoming you to our mountain hut.
