Kitchen and Cellar
The hut-keeping family, Judith and Stefan with their sons Felix and Willi, share their passion for good food and a cozy atmosphere. "Tyrolean cuisine with a Mediterranean touch" could be the motto on the menu. We attach great importance on high quality ingredients, preferably sourced from the immediate surroundings. Meat and sausage products come from the village butcher in Kastelruth, Sibernagl, while spices and herbs come directly from our own garden in Kastelruth.
Willi, our youngest son and also the head chef, leads the preparation of all dishes with his team, including the sweet delicacies, which are all freshly and exclusively prepared in our house. We completely avoid using convenience products.
The remaining part of the family is dedicated to the service to ensure that our guests do not lack for anything. In our beverage menu, you'll find pleasing choices such as Helles beer, wheat beer, and cellar beer from the Antonius Private Brewery in Völs am Schlern, all freshly tapped. From the renowned Forst Brewery, we offer a Helles and a non-alcoholic Helles in bottles. The non-alcoholic wheat beer comes from the Kapuziner Brewery.
In Stefan's carefully curated wine cellar, around thirty different red, white, and sparkling wines are stored. Four white wines and four red wines are even poured by the glass to provide our guests with a diverse culinary experience. The mineral water comes from the St. Vigil springs above Merano. Not to be forgotten are Judith's famous homemade juices – elderberry, mint, and ginger juices, lovingly prepared and diluted with fresh mineral water.
