Route:
From the Tierser Alpl Alpine Refuge (at 2,440 meters above sea-level), proceed for a short distance on the south side, ascending until you reach the first rope. Enter the narrow gorge and ascend into the gap (beautiful view of the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi). Continue to the left until you reach the summit ridge and the summit of the „Big Walrus Tusk" („Grosser Rosszahn”) at 2,653 meters above sea-level. Continue on the west side through a gateway in the rocks and descend to the connecting ridge. Climb over it until you reach the Roterd Notch (2,556 meters abo¬ve sea-level).
Here, there is an emergency exit and return way to the refuge. Now, proceed on the east side and ascend to the highest pinnacle of the Schlern / Sciliar Plateau, the Roterd Peak (3,655 meters abo¬ve sea-level), where there is a wonderful panoramic view. That part of the trail with secured ropes now comes to an end. On the west side, descend at a moderate rate until you reach Climbing Trail No. 4 (Schlern/Sciliar - Tierser Alpl) and continue along it back to the starting-point.
